Screen printing workshop with the artist María Ramírez

There are two basic, simple premises behind this workshop: to enjoy ourselves, and to experiment with textile screenprinting. Alberto Feijóo and María Ramírez have asked participants to bring their own items of clothing to print works of each of theirs onto.

Two complementary serigraphic techniques will be developed: the monoprint, firstly, and onto it, a traditional screen print of an image by Alberto Feijóo.

*It is important for participants in this workshop to bring clothing or smooth textiles from home.

María Ramírez is an art director and freelance textile print designer based in Madrid.

She has a Degree in Fine Art with the Universidad Complutense, Madrid, and currently combines her career as an art director with her textile brand mariaramirez. María makes all of her print designs with manual techniques, caring for the design and details. She uses the gesture of repetition as a basic pattern-making vocabulary, to build up different projects in different contexts.

She has exhibited her work and given conferences and specialised workshops for institutions including the Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Instituto Cervantes (Stockholm), Instituto Europeo de Diseño IED (Madrid), La Casa Encendida (Madrid), Barreira School of Design (València).

Her work has been published in important national and international publications such as AD Magazine, Diseño Interior, Metal Magazine, Neo2 Magazine, Vein Magazine, La Vanguardia and several issues of ICON El País and Vogue.
