IVAM presents the exhibition “In Transit”
It is the first show of the year 2015 marks the beginning of a new stage in the museum
Valencia. The director of the Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM), José Miguel G. Cortés, who is also the curator of the exhibition, will present together with Álvaro de los Ángeles the exhibition ‘In Transit’ on Wednesday, 14th January at 11:00am.
At the museum’s esplanade, the curators will start a tour around the first exhibition proposal of IVAM in 2015, which begins with two monumental sculptures, followed by more than fifty photographs, sketches, paintings, sculptures, installations and videos from the IVAM Collection, in Gallery 1.
The pieces that compose this exhibition are arranged in three thematic blocks: ‘Scuba diving among debris’, ‘Muttations’ and ‘Cartographies/Fluid Identities’, and they include works by artists such as Richard Serra, Gordon Matta-Clark, Bruce Nauman, Juan Muñoz, Miquel Navarro, Gilberto Zorio, Roberth Smithson, Ángeles Marco, Cristina Iglesias, Robert Frank, José Mª Yturralde or Richard Hamilton, among others.
