With the purpose of improving the quality of life and social participation of people in situations of dependency or at risk of dependency, IVAM is launching an art therapy and artistic production programme in collaboration with CREAP (State Reference Centre for Psychosocial Care) aimed at people interested in developing their artistic identity.
Over the course of one year, two groups of ten participants, accompanied by a specialised art therapist, will engage with artistic content related to IVAM’s programmes and exhibitions through the practice of different techniques and disciplines, including drawing, sculpture, photography, land art, body art, performance, audiovisual language and others. The second group will be open to the general public, with registration beginning in November.
This programme forms part of the IVAM’s strategies for the new season, which wish to strengthen the museum’s commitment to accessibility and to open up to new audiences, engaging with them from a community-based perspective. A transversal approach to IVAM’s programming and the creation of spaces for artistic experimentation for group participants will be the priorities of this new initiative, which aims to promote social participation and cultural rights on equal terms.
