As part of the museum’s L’IVAM al territori outreach programme, and in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Children and Adolescents of the Generalitat Valenciana, we are now presenting this second edition of an artistic and participatory project that reaches out beyond the museum’s epicentre and its collection into the shared spaces of residential care centres for minors across the Valencian region.
Throughout the school year, children and adolescents living in residential care centres and their teams of carers and educators will be able to take part as participants and protagonists in a research and creation process led by an art mediation team. Together they will learn, imagine and create a collective, participatory artwork while experimenting with the collection of the IVAM.
Fractals Educación Artística is a Valencia-based cultural association originally founded in 2017 to develop a project of social transformation through art education from an intersectional perspective, grounded in the values of feminism, interculturality and community development. The association combines art, education and politics in order to transform the context in a more cohesive and equitable society. With this purpose in mind, it develops participatory methodologies and works in collaborative care projects with Sankofa Espai Intercultural.
