The goal of the Els grans de l’IVAM museum programme is to set in place a stable group of senior visitors (+65s without work commitments) interested in expanding their knowledge of the history of contemporary art, artistic creation and museums. Its aim is to continue growing together and to share personal experiences and knowledge.
The founding mission of the project is to make the museum a place for sharing and acquiring new experiences. This ongoing practice of listening and contemplation, transmission and constant questioning of the museum’s exhibition programme and the museum space itself will hopefully serve as a catalyst for shared experiences and mutual learning. The support and guidance of the museum’s mediation team will be essential throughout the whole process.
Over the various months of the project, participants will take part in mediated visits to the museum’s exhibitions and engage in group reflection around them. The exhibition programme and public activities serve as both a point of departure and a framework for articulating this space of shared knowledge.
This fourth edition of the programme is both a continuation and the result of the drive and enthusiasm of participants from previous editions of Els Grans de l’IVAM, who have collaborated with the museum, generated their own proposals, and remain latently connected to the programme.
