Through the digital adaptation of our workshop “Pinazo Comes to Life at IVAM!” during confinement, we will learn to create our own animated sequence with all the characters we imagine, which we can draw inspired by the gestural technique of the Valencian painter Ignacio Pinazo.
In this second video, we are introduced to the basics of animated cinema using Pinazo’s gestural and improvised drawing technique.
This activity encourages us to engage with the figure of the revolutionary Valencian painter to spark children’s creativity, discover new techniques to use on our own devices (phones or tablets), awaken new tactile sensations through the use of sand and paper, and understand the sequencing of actions in film production. All of this is done through family play, using animation, stop motion, and cartoon drawing techniques.
