The Saitama universe explores the home within us. A safe place where we and our tribe can express ourselves freely, where the boundary between the intimate and the exposed is a fine, yet secure, line. We see the world in a certain way, and this very way of understanding and perceiving the world is what makes us unique and special.
We created our own world. Saitama is an intimate, small, and clean space. The body as the habitat of the human. Mind, body, and emotion serve art in a single direction.
Saitama. Family Dance Experiences is a workshop organized around five blocks that explore contrasts such as contraction, destruction, calm, concentration, and movement. Among the supporting resources is linear and geometric movement inspired by William Forsythe’s methodology to help build our own sense of home.
The goal is to create a safe space among all participants. We will work with the “tribes” individually, using play, theater, and dance. This “beautiful normality” heightens awareness of caring for oneself and others, making us vulnerable, alert to protection, and attuned to the primitive.
