The Museum in Chain is an activity conceived and carried out by La Figuera, aimed at family participation.
In the form of a self-publishing workshop, in which a collective graphic piece will be created, the activity is based on the concept of the performance society, proposed by the thinker Byung-Chul Han. This concept is based on the idea of a new subject that evolves from the disciplinary society, governed by the idea of duty in industrial societies, to another society structured around the idea of “being able to do” or “being able to be.” This new subject is activated from an assumed freedom of action or empowerment, which at the same time entails significant self-exploitation and appropriates all aspects of our lives (work, leisure, family, etc.), erasing boundaries.
The workshop becomes a collective action, with a touch of irony, aiming to provoke conscious awareness among participants regarding their condition as visitors to an exhibition or museum (as audience, users, clients, citizens, etc.).
