“On the Margins” is an artistic mediation project designed to be developed in classrooms, based on the content and concepts presented in the IVAM exhibition “Des/Ordre moral. Art and Sexuality in Interwar Europe”, which explores the social conflicts and tensions arising from changes in sexuality during the interwar period in Europe.
The project On the Margins began at the start of the 2020–21 academic year as an in-person activity for secondary school and high school students, as well as diverse community groups, taking place in Gallery 1 of the IVAM – Centre Julio González. Due to circumstances arising from the global COVID-19 pandemic, On the Margins has now been transformed into an interactive and expansive digital resource, designed to be integrated into classrooms in a visual and autonomous way by teachers.
