Among the theoretical premises that configure modern art, design has been considered one of the media that have most efficaciously divulged the innovative character and the contributions of the most avant-garde trends and movements. Since the dawn of the 20th century, graphic design has been one of the cultural tools with the greatest influence because of its importance in social communication, contributing to the presence of avant-garde art in everyday life and reflecting the different stages of the evolution of aesthetics. The peak of graphic design in Valencia occurred in the mid seventies when immersion in contemporaneity took place with the retrieval of a mentality open to international design. The number and quality of designers working in our Community are a token of the development reached by this discipline, and, through the organisation of monographic exhibitions, the aim is to show the new, imaginative production they make in the sphere of design and the new creative languages.
