Among the exhibitions held in recent years at IVAM, I fondly remember the one dedicated to Helena Almeida, in 2017. I find her work is a manifestation of contained beauty, emotion and rebellion, to which I cannot help but feel captivated. That exhibition, which was named “Helena Almeida. Corpus” and was a journey through her work since the 1960s, brought together an important set of pieces, well selected for the enjoyment of those who admired her, as well as to provide a good approach to her work for those who became interested in her for the first time.
