Art & Gastronomy. Writing down the landscape of wine

Exhibition

Francés has developed a personal and intimate photographic style focused on his passion for landscape, especially for the scenery of his home village, Fontanars dels Alforins, a beautiful spot in the countryside. Armed with his reflex cameras, nowadays digital, he captures the passing of time and the well-defined seasons, as would be expected from a rain-fed region with pre-continental weather. Miquel Francés has taken thousands of snapshots of the fields of Alforins, capturing the snows of winter and the blossom of spring, the red and yellow shades of autumn and the greenery in summer just before the grapes are harvested. He has done so with the boldness of a self-sufficient amateur oenologist who also tries to help young growers from the area. The photomontage created for the IVAM is like a road map, a geography of wine or an oenography, as the exhibition title reads.
