M. Barceló (fotografías de J. M. del Moral)

Exhibition

The black-and-white and colour photographs of the photographer Jean-Marie del Moral constitute an intense experience that has lasted over fifteen years, from 1985 until this year, between the Majorcan painter Miquel Barceló and this Franco-Spanish photographer, who has been travelling from Europe to Africa to visit him at his different studios. All these photographs, which could be described as a travel notebook, with the workshops in Butles, Chaumont, Majorca, Mali as ports of call and with temporary visits to Palermo, for example, represent the route of a painter with its twists and turns, its queries and its quests, traces of memory and places and time. Besides, the photographs portray in detail the universe, the objects, the particulars that might seem insignificant to an unobservant visitor, but that are in fact essential to the Majorcan artist’s imaginary world. The exhibition, which will comprise some eighty large-format photographs by Jean Marie del Moral.
