Beatrice Helg

Exhibition

Béatrice Helg’s works are something more than traditional photographs. The metal, Plexiglass, cloth and drawings of other industrial objects that she includes in her work are simple materials she uses to create atmospheres, establishing an illusion of monumental spaces and altered spaces. Her photographs have the great impact of a creative adventure that combines a minimum of media with a maximum of effects to achieve a quality reminiscent of the Russian avant gardes of the early 20th century in pursuit of pure abstraction. Béatrice Helg studied photography at a fine arts school in Oakland and the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, and she continued her education at the International Center of Photography in New York. Since 1979, Helg’s work has been exhibited regularly in European and American museums and numerous art galleries.
