Ramón de Soto

The sculptor Ramón de Soto (Valencia,1942) has been involved in all restructuring initiatives associated with modernity in the Valencian Community since 1960, specially his participation in the foundation of the group Antes del Arte and his commitment with pedagogical renewal as a professor. His sculptoric work is inspired by constructive tradition and has been taken into account in forums associated with aesthetic creation and committed with investigation of languages, the fight against Franco’s dictatorship and the symbolic and transcendental character of the artistic fact. The exhibition synthesizes all his creative periods. It is an ensemble of sculptures and drawings in which his series Sistemas generadores de configuraciones [Configurative systems], Paisajes de la Memoria [Landscapes of memory] or Paisajes del Silencio [Landscapes of silence] are thoroughly examined.
