 El Panel Internacional de Expertos Independientes, convocado por la Fundaci\u00f3n Stop Ecocidio para realizar la definici\u00f3n jur\u00eddica de este concepto, el concepto de ecocidio, concluy\u00f3 su trabajo de redacci\u00f3n en junio de 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El trabajo para llevar a cabo la redacci\u00f3n del informe, como explic\u00f3 Jojo Mehta, presidenta de la fundaci\u00f3n, \u201cha sido de alto nivel colaborativo y con informaci\u00f3n por parte de muchos expertos, incluyendo una consulta p\u00fablica que aport\u00f3 cientos de perspectivas legales, econ\u00f3micas, pol\u00edticas, juveniles, religiosas e ind\u00edgenas. La definici\u00f3n resultante est\u00e1 bien ajustada entre lo que se debe hacer de manera concreta para proteger los ecosistemas y lo que ser\u00e1 aceptable por los Estados. Es concisa, se basa en s\u00f3lidos precedentes legales y encajar\u00e1 bien con las leyes existentes. Los gobiernos la tomar\u00e1n en serio. Ofrece una herramienta legal viable que se corresponde con una necesidad real y urgente en el mundo.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n
