10 repeatedly abused and constantly undervalued, cannot come only from exultant but impoverishing analyses of surfaces. Attention must be paid to the intermediate layers of this tendency, and to the underlying bedrock, now bemired, to create the possibility of a profound regeneration that will be visible at every level and allow the change and consolidation of its habitat, keeping to the same figurative image. For this founding task the demands of society and its sectors are exigent and expressed with urgency, but the process cannot be made subject to the result without taking account of the time required, for that would lead it into contradiction with its own identity as process and as a path that is marked out as we advance along it. In Transit is also an art project that occupies an exhibition space, and its influence is defined by the physical boundaries of the museum. Thus it corresponds to the symbolic power that art constantly makes possible and generates. This is an aspect about which more must be said, producing questions that may bring useless answers and further questions, such as the uncertainty of an answer that will be useful – meaning true or at least plausible – for a given moment and that will surprise us like a hidden treasure. For contemporary society demands of its institutions new ways of acting in scenarios that are increasingly committed to their functions of public service, and present and future institutionalisation must constantly be adapted to these new realities. In Transit is a message that previews an attitude, a demarcation that creates the possibility of subsequent action. Yet it is not so much a solution as a certification portending possible change.
